My congratulations to Milton Sosa too. Last Bolao he got the third place and now he ended up 5th, very close to the winners. What a performance! Next Bolao I will ask him for advice. Grande Milton!
Marulo Mandela is very upset with the non-tiebraking rule for top scorer. He'd be 2nd otherwise. Uncle Nelson and J Blatter will contact Bolao da Copa Master Commitee soon. Congrats to Francesco, the true winner!
Well, I was going to wait for the official results to start celebrating... ;-) but in the meantime, I guess I'll start thanking:
1) The organizers for all their efforts and fun blog! I owe you guys (at least) a drink!
2) Indhira, Javier, Marulo and all the other guys who kept this race fun until the very end!
3) Mark (for introducing me to the bolao!)
4) The Octopus Paul for having supported my predictions (Paul or Paolo since, according to the italian press, he seems to be italian :-) http://www.corriere.it/sport/speciali/2010/mondiali-calcio-sudafrica/notizie/11-luglio-polpo-paul-italiano_8179b362-8cd6-11df-bfcf-00144f02aabe.shtml)
5) Last but not least, The Against who in the second newsletter was suggesting to all Italians: Andate tutti a fanculo! Well, I guess we are going but at least with the Bolao da Copa in our hand!!! ;-)
The results are already hand-checked (believe it or not), and official since now.
And the rules were clear since the beginning. We didn't bet on the 'Adidas Golden Boot' winner, but on the top scorer. And Forlan, Müller, Villa, Sneijder are all top scorer, with 5 goals each (well, Sneijder got a goal from Felipe Melo, but according to FIFA...). Sorry Marulo.
Congratulations to the winners!

ReplyDeleteWho was the top scorer in the WC? Forlan?

According to our non-tiebraking rules, there are four top scorers: Forlan, Müller, Villa, Sneijder.
